Though February wasn’t the Blues’ best month in terms of results, three players still emerged as candidates for the award - and here they are:
Vincent Kompany
The skipper has been in towering form during February with several powerful displays ensuring the Blues stay on course for silverware this season. Free from the niggling injuries that blighted his progress earlier in the campaign, Kompany has lead from the front with controlled aggression and excellent captaincy.
David Silva
Back to his very best, David Silva is peaking at exactly the right time. The Spanish magician has been superb throughout February and been among the Blues’ most consistent performers all season. Instrumental in almost every attack, he pushed for star man against Norwich, Chelsea and Stoke during February and is a strong candidate for the Player of the Month.
Yaya Toure
When City need someone to carry them over the line, Yaya Toure is never far away. Superb against Chelsea in the FA Cup, disciplined against Norwich and the match-winner against Stoke where the Ivorian grabbed his 17th of the season, Yaya is an inspirational figure and another strong contender for the Etihad award for February.
