The Ivorian polled two thirds of the total vote for last month with David Silva finishing second and Vincent Kompany third.
The Etihad award is the latest in a string of honours the City midfielder has collected this season having won the BBC Africa Player of the Year and the African Footballer of the Year award during the current campaign.
Yaya also scored a superb goal in the Capital One Cup final earlier this month to take his tally to an incredible 18 – a career best haul that has left him just two shy of his half-century for City.
The winning entrants, who will present the award in person or receive a personal video message from Yaya, are:
UK winner is Emmett Cassidy and the overseas winner is Varun Kothari.
Thanks to everyone who voted.
