City’s talismanic striker has been working around the clock to ensure he is available for the visit of the Hammers, and the man whose goal sealed the dramatic title win in 2012 is desperate to play his part once again.
With 28 goals from 29 starts, Kun’s record this season is among the best in the division and only a frustrating series of injuries has stopped the Argentina star from breaking all kinds of club records.
Now he’s aiming to end the campaign on the ultimate high – and repay the fans that have made him their idol.
“I feel good – I’m not 100% yet, but I should be by Sunday and even if I’m not, the emotion of the occasion and the desire of everyone will carry me through and I won’t notice any pain,” said Sergio.

Sergio’s never-say-die attitude has become embroidered into the Club’s fabric in recent years and in an interview he gave the City Magazine in 2012 – when all seemed lost and the Blues had slipped eight points behind Manchester United – he said that the players would fight to the end.
Those words became an attitude, a club statement and a song and he smiles at the mention of them.
“When I first said it and subsequently tweeted it a number of times afterwards, I never thought it would become such an important message for City,” he said.
“In football, nothing is ever certain and nothing is guaranteed and anything is possible so until it’s mathematically over, you just never know. That’s why I say ‘fight to the end and never give up’ – I find it’s a good way of staying positive and it helps me a lot and I think that transmits through to the rest of the team.
“Things don’t always go you your way but as long as you have that attitude and stay positive, you have a chance and until the points total says you can’t, you keep on going.”
So does Kun feel this will be the same as the final game of 2012?
“I think it’s going to be different, but that doesn’t for one moment mean it’s going to be easier,” he said.
Obviously, we are playing a different team and I suppose the main thing that is different from last time is that QPR were fighting for their lives to stay up – right up until the last minute

“That gave them an extra edge – West Ham obviously want to come to the Etihad and beat us, but they don’t have any pressure on them so that makes it a different game.
“We still have a similar pressure on us as last time because we need a win to guarantee the title.”
Sergio is desperate to win another Premier League winner’s medal to add to the Capital One Cup medal he earned two months ago. But he wants to win the league for the City fans who he says have made him feel so loved and welcome over the past three seasons.

“So going into Sunday, I want to say thank you to our fans for the fantastic for the support they’ve given us all year.
“They’ve been behind us, they’ve been full-on but haven’t added pressure on us and I’d like to go around the stadium on Sunday and thank each and every one of them - but I can’t do that – the only way I can pay them back for their love and kindness is to go out and perform well on the field.
“I want to repay their faith and I will be doing my best for them to try and help us to win the title – and I can promise we will fight to the end to make that happen.”
