Fresh from their 7-1 win over Roma, Bayern Munich were held to a 0-0 draw at second-placed Borussia Monchengladbach at the weekend.
Pep Guardiola’s side enjoyed 73% of the possession but couldn’t break down a stubborn Mönchengladbach who also remain unbeaten this season, proving the Bundesliga champions can be stopped.
“In the first half we controlled the game very well,” said Guardiola. “In the second half we were a little tired, we lost a bit of our organisation and had to play more on the counter-attack.
“I am very happy with our play and the point. Without Manuel Neuer they should have scored one or two goals.”
Lucien Favre’s side have now gone 14 games without defeat and have proved to be something of a surprise package in the Bundesliga this season

Bayern remain top of the table and are four points clear of Monchengladbach, Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim who are all locked on 17 points.
In Serie A, it was back to basics for AS Roma who were still licking their wounds from the midweek mauling at the hands of Bayern.
Roma travelled to fourth-placed Sampdoria and, in perhaps the most predictable result of the weekend, ground out a 0-0 draw to restore confidence in a defence which had been deconstructed at will by the Germans.
The draw keeps Roma in second place, three points behind leaders Juventus and three points clear of Udinese.
In Russia, CSKA again showed their fighting spirit again by coming from behind three times to secure a 3-3 draw with FC Ufa.
Bebras Natcho again scored a late penalty to save the day – his second spot-kick of the game – as CKSA remain second in Russian Premier League, four points behind Zenit St Petersburg who will be their next opponents.
