Here are the three nominees for February:

The nominees:

Samir Nasri:

February was a strong month for Samir Nasri who has been showing his best form of the season so far. Two outstanding displays in particular were away to Stoke and at home to Newcastle.

Against the Potters it was Nasri’s clever cross that found the head of James Milner to put the Blues 2-1 up before the Frenchman scored a stunning goal of his own. Samir then added a fine individual goal against Newcastle as well as assisting David Silva’s first against the Magpies. All in all, a fine month for Samir.

James Milner:

Chasing back-to-back player of the month awards, Milner picked up where he left off in January and started February with stunning last-gasp equaliser against Hull City. Milner was then outstanding against Stoke and capped a memorable display with a rare headed goal in the 4-1 win at the Britannia.

Though injured against Newcastle, he returned and put in another impressive shift against Barcelona to make him a strong contender for February.

Celebration

David Silva:

When David Silva plays well, City play well and the Spaniard was at his very best during a productive February. Silva was at his magical best against Stoke, knitting the play and was integral in everything good the Blues did and he followed that up with two goals in two minutes in the 5-0 win over Newcastle as well as providing a sumptuous assist for Edin Dzeko.

And when City stirred into life against Barcelona, it was Silva at the heart of the goal that dragged the Blues back into the game as he laid off a clever ball to Aguero to go on and score.
