Joe Hart, David Silva and Jesus Navas are the trio of Etihad Player of the Month nominees for March.

Here’s why the three players are up for the award...

Joe Hart

Two cleans sheets don’t quite do Joe Hart’s performances during March justice. The City keeper produced a performance that is probably worth the player of the month award alone with a superb display against Barcelona after which Lionel Messi claimed the England No.1 was ‘a phenomenon’.  Of the four goals that did beat him last month, three were world class strikes that would have found the net against any goalkeeper – so overall, a terrific month for Hart.

David Silva

With back-to-back Etihad awards on January and February, David Silva is again in the running for the March prize. Arguably City’s best player in the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, Silva was on the score-sheet twice with goals against Leicester and West Brom, earning man-of-the-match honours in the process. Can El Mago make it three in a row? You decide!

Jesus Navas

A dark horse in the March race for honours, Jesus Navas’ consistency throughout this season has earned him a nomination for March. It was also the appearance of Navas that stoked City’s fires at Barcelona, with the speedy winger a constant thorn down the right flank. He provided an assist against Leicester for James Milner in a solid month for the Spaniard.

Voting closes on 1 April at noon and one lucky UK voter who selects the winner will get to present the player with the award in person - one overseas voter will receive a video message from the player, too. Good luck!
