The title is gone but City still have plenty to play for in their penultimate home assignment of the 2014/15 season.

Relegation-threatened QPR visit the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon aiming to spring an upset and boost their chances of survival.

Where will the game be won and lost? Here are five things to look out for…

A free hit…

Beware a side with everything to gain and nothing to lose…

The Rs’ look doomed but, as Sunderland showed last season, it ain’t over ‘til it’s over.

QPR will be relegated to the Championship if they lose Sunday’s game – they will also drop down to English football’s second tier if they draw and Leicester and Hull avoid defeat or one if one of the Foxes or Tigers avoid defeat and Sunderland beat Everton.

Even a win might not be enough – if Chris Ramsey’s side win but Leicester, Hull, Newcastle and Aston Villa all win too, their fate will be sealed.

Permutations…

Only an incredible, unprecedented goal difference swing can now see City drop out of the UEFA Champions League places.

City would mathematically tick the box marked top-four finish and qualification for the continent’s premier club competition should they avoid defeat to QPR or if Liverpool fail to beat Chelsea in Sunday’s 4pm kick-off.

A guaranteed top-three finish and automatic qualification for the UEFA Champions League group would be sealed if we were to win and if Manchester United failed to beat Crystal Palace.

Home boys…

City are the league’s form home team, losing just one of their last 15 Barclays Premier League home games (W11 D3 L1).

Since a shaky run at the Etihad which saw City crash out of the FA Cup to Middlesbrough, lose to Arsenal and draw with Hull, Manuel Pellegrini’s side have shown signs of recovering their old air of invincibility in front of their own supporters.

QPR have lost three of their last six away from Loftus Road and travel to Manchester without a win in over a month.

Individual honours…

No room for any City players in the PFA Team of the Year but two of the team’s leading stars are in line to win less subjective honours this season.

while Joe Hart is one clean sheet away from the top of the Golden Gloves award for most shutouts.

Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet and Southampton’s Fraser Forster currently lead the way with 13 apiece but with Forster ruled out for the rest of the season and Mignolet coming up against Chelsea on Sunday, Joe could climb to the top of the rankings if City’s goal remains unbreached on Sunday.

Odds and ends…

According to FourFourTwo, City’s substitutes have contributed towards 17 goals (nine goals, eight assists) this season; more than any other teams’ replacements.

Rob Green has made more errors leading to goals than any other Premier League player this season (6), while our players have only made four errors directly leading to concessions overall in 2014-15.
