Sunday saw the Etihad Stadium host another feast as City netted a hatful against Queens Park Rangers so we thought it appropriate to recall six other occasions when the Blues have scored six in recent years.

Few could forget the events of Old Trafford’s Manchester derby in the 2011/12 season - and few could have predicted it.
A superb City thrashed their neighbours 6-1 to send themselves five points clear at the top of the Premier League table and inflict the Reds’ worst home defeat since February 1955.
Mario Balotelli opened the scoring for the Blues on 22 minutes and famously celebrated by lifting his shirt over his head to reveal his ‘why always me?’ t-shirt.
Jonny Evans then received an early bath just after the break to send the hosts down to ten and City capitalised in ruthless fashion.
Balotelli netted his second before Sergio Aguero wrote his name onto the scoresheet. Then, Edin Dzeko added a brace and David Silva slotted home late on.
Darren Fletcher’s consolation did little to dampen the mood in the Blue half of Manchester on a day which would prove significant in the title race as Roberto Mancini’s side went on to secure the Premier League crown on goal difference ahead of their rivals.

City’s trip to Carrow Road in the 2011/12 season also proved crucial in securing top spot at the end of the league season.
Inspiring by a rampant Carlos Tevez, the Blues cut United’s lead at the top to two points with a stunning victory over the Canaries.
The Argentine opened the scoring before setting up compatriot Aguero to give the visitors a 2-0 lead, before Andrew Surman halved the deficit for the home side.
Fortunately, it didn’t prove detrimental as Tevez and Aguero both doubled their tallies for the afternoon.
Tevez then added his third - followed by his ‘golf swing’ celebration and Adam Johnson sealed the rout in injury time to pile the pressure on their neighbours and increase that all-important goal difference.

A crucial victory over the North Londoners reasserted the Blues’ title credentials and began with a lightning start.
Jesus Navas broke the deadlock inside 14 seconds before an own goal from Sandro put the home side 2-0 up.
Aguero then netted his side’s third of the afternoon on 41 minutes and the siege continued into the second half.
Alvaro Negredo then made it five and Navas topped off a fantastic afternoon with his second of the game in added time.

A crazy but memorable day at the Etihad Stadium in December churned out nine goals when the Gunners came to town.
It was a vital win for the Blues, who closed the gap on the league leaders to three points, with a fine attacking display.
Aguero opened the scoring for the home side on 13 minutes but the visitors cancelled it out on the half-hour mark through Theo Walcott.
Their respite didn’t last long though as Negredo regained the lead for his side and Fernandinho gave City a two-goal cushion after the break.
Walcott then struck to give Arsenal a lifeline but Silva ensured it would exist only for a few minutes.
An eventful end to the game saw three goals in nine minutes. Fernandinho earned his brace before Per Mertesacker headed home. Then, a minute later, City were awarded a penalty which Yaya Toure tucked away to complete the scoring.

An enjoyable night for Negredo saw the Spaniard net a treble in the Capital One Cup, giving the hosts a wonderful lead to take into the second leg.
The Beast scored twice early on and Toure also found the net to give the Blues a superb half-time lead.
Negredo then completed his hat-trick three minutes after the break and Dzeko added a further two to put one foot in the League Cup final.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side professionally saw the task through in the second leg, clinching a 3-0 win at Upton Park to secure a record aggregate win.
Burnley 1-6 City, 3 April 2010
Trips to Turf Moor have been fruitful for the Blues in the past - though of course, this was not the case this season.
The visit to Burnley in the 2009/10 campaign certainly was though, as City romped to victory to keep their hopes of a top-four spot alive.
An incredible start set the visitors on their way to victory, as the away side found themselves 3-0 up inside seven minutes, courtesy of goals from Emmanuel Adebayor, Craig Bellamy and Tevez.
Patrick Vieira and Adebayor added the fourth and fifth goals before the break with only a half-time downpour of rain threatening to spoil City’s day with the abandonment of the game.
Fortunately, that didn’t happen and Vincent Kompany netted the sixth, meaning Steven Fletcher’s strike proved merely a consolation.
