It's safe to say George Evans is enjoying his football at Walsall.

In four appearances for the Saddlers, the midfielder has netted three times - his latest, the opener in Saturday’s 2-0 FA Cup win over Fleetwood.

Full of confidence, he controlled, took a touch and needed no invitation to fire low into the bottom corner from 25 yards.

Speaking to the Express and Star after the game, the youngster spoke of his happiness at the club, asserting he’d like to extend his stay.

He declared: “I’m really enjoying my time here. Each day I’m learning from a great manager and great players.

“I’m only going to develop into a better player by being here at Walsall.

“I’d be delighted to stay for a longer period but it’s a conversation that will happen between the gaffer and Manchester City.

“I’ve spoken to the manager here a few times and if he wants me to stay, I am more than happy to do that.”
