Mike Dean has been appointed as referee for Saturday’s Barclays Premier League game against Bournemouth.

City will be looking to build on their 6-1 win over Newcastle United in their last encounter before the international break – a win which brought to an end a run of two consecutive league defeats.

Dean has dished out 28 yellow cards and two red cards in his seven Premier League games so far this season, with both of the sendings off occurring in the same game between Chelsea and Arsenal last month.

City’s opening day win at The Hawthorns against West Brom was our last game officiated by Dean and he hasn’t shown a red card to one of our players in a Premier League match since our 1-1 draw with Chelsea in September 2014.

Saturday’s game against Bournemouth will mark the first meeting between the two sides in 16 years and the first in the top flight.

Last time we met the Cherries it was a goalless draw at Dean Court in Division Two on Saturday 13 February 1999.

Bournemouth lie in 15th place in the league after eight games and have won only once on the road, away at West Ham United in their second Premier League game.
