Yaya Touré is on the hunt for a record fifth CAF African player of the year award following the announcement of the 37-strong list of nominees.

Touré, who won the award last year for the fourth successive time could overtake Cameroon’s Samuel Eto’o if he is again successful.

Yaya’s Ivory Coast team-mates Gervinho, Max Gradel and Serge Aurier are the other names on the international list from the Nation Cup winning squad.

The City powerhouse faces stiff competition from no less than 10 other Premier League stars for the award which is announced on 22 December.
