City will begin their defence of the English Football League Cup with a trip to South Wales where Pep Guardiola’s side will face Swansea City - the first of back-to-back trips against the Swans.
The Blues face Swansea in the Premier League just days after the cup tie which is the first ever meeting between the teams in any cup competition.
City landed the League Cup for the second time in three years when Liverpool were defeated at Wembley earlier this year and a visit to The Liberty Stadium will be a tough test for the holders - though the Blues are unbeaten on their last four visits to Swansea.
The date will be announced in due course, but will be played in the week commencing 19 September.
