City’s signing of Leroy Sane has been completed and the Blues squad is taking shape ahead of Pep Guardiola’s first season at the club.

Despite still being only 20 years old, the winger’s talent has drawn praise from some of the most respected voices in the game.

After his performances in Schalke’s 2015/16 campaign earned him a place in the Germany squad for Euro 2016, the youngster has been drawing plenty of attention.

Here’s what has been said:

“Leroy Sane is a huge talent and I can only congratulate Germany on having a talent like him.” (Pep Guardiola while managing Bayern Munich)

“Leroy has an incredibly good feeling when it comes to running into space and, with his speed, he has acquired this very well. He is a player with a special gift and finesse, speed paired with technique and strong running. He can make the jump with us very quickly.” (Germany manager Joachim Low)

“Everyone knows the qualities Leroy has. He has pace to burn and can always do something special.” (Schalke and Germany defender Benedikt Howedes)

“I think he is the real deal. Schalke know what they’ve got on their hands and he’s been called up by Germany of course which is no coincidence. He’s one of the guys that will come into the conversation for big things.” (Renowned German journalist Raphael Honigstein)

“They [Schalke] have lethal wingers, who can dribble. Leroy Sane is one of them.” (Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel)

“Leroy has yet to mature, but he has a way of playing that can make all the difference. He isn’t put off if things aren’t going as expected; even if he loses the ball, he can complete a well-run counter in the next moment.” (Schalke general manager Horst Heldt)

“Having inherited his father’s speed and his mother’s agility, Sane Jr. was always bound to become an outstanding footballer. it was inevitable that he would become an undisputed starter for Schalke.” (ESPN journalist Michael Yokhin)
