A thumping 4-1 triumph at Stoke handed the Blues their third win under their new coach’s reign, maintaining their 100% record in the 2016/17 campaign.
Braces from Sergio Aguero and substitute Nolito secured the victory to continue City’s impressive form.
When asked what pleased him at the Bet365 Stadium, Guardiola replied: “Everything. We travelled here and won the game.
“I am really impressed with the players as human beings and with their performance.
“We have only had one month together - there is time to get better.”
Ever the perfectionist, Guardiola added he was disappointed to have conceded but was pleased with his side’s overall display.
“It was a pity about the penalty in the first minutes of the second half,” he admitted.
“In the first half, we played good and just missed the last pass. We arrived many times in the box with one against one.
“We created a lot of counter attacks in the second half - good situations - but the last pass was not good.
“We have to try and finish the action.
“It is always tough to play here. With the corners it is difficult and the crowd is amazing - congrats to Stoke for the support. They push the players and the referee for absolutely everything.
“They always had long balls to create something. They have a lot of quality with the likes of Bojan and Arnautovic, and we were lucky Shaqiri was not there.
“We defended high and compact with the second ball.”
The game saw two penalties awarded by Mike Dean, under the new ruling in which referees are keeping a close eye on activity in the area during corners.
Asked of his thoughts on the spot-kick decisions, Guardiola responded: “I heard the new rule but we defend with zonal marking - we are not marking men.
“It is different. We have to adjust. The referees are curious about what’s happening so we have to be careful.”
