Jesus Navas hopes City can kick on, having completed their Champions League group stage journey with qualification secured.

The Blues finished second in Group C to progress, with nine points, following a 1-1 draw with Celtic.

With that target accomplished, Navas now wants to see his side achieve more, starting with a return to winning ways against Leicester on Saturday.

Reflecting on Tuesday’s clash, he declared: “We created a lot of chances and now we are through to the next round so we are very happy about that.

“We’re looking forward to the next fixture. We’ll face every game as it comes and we have to get the three points in each match.”

City will discover their last 16 opponents on Monday, but the Spaniard insists he has no preference.

“We have to be ready - that’s the most important thing,” he added.

“We have to work well, as we are doing at the moment, and try to have a good game in the first leg.

“That would help us ahead of the second one.”
