The Catalan manager is happy with his squad and believes the addition of Gabriel Jesus, whose transfer from Palmeiras is already agreed, gives him plenty of options going into the new year.
However, he refused to rule out the possibility of further incomings, saying the club will keep their options open throughout the window.
“I am happy with what we have,” he said. “Our job is to give confidence to the players we have.
“I’m not denying maybe we are going to look for something, I’m not saying that – but I think right now it’s not going to happen and what we have to do is to convince the players that we have of their qualities.
“I’m happy with the players we have.
“Of course, Gabriel Jesus is coming – we have another striker.”
City secured back-to-back victories last week with home wins over Watford and Arsenal.
They also looked stronger at the back after a turbulent few weeks, something that has pleased Guardiola.
“Watford received two chances and against Arsenal we concede the goal and in the second half one cross for Giroud who didn’t contact too well. So the important thing is we concede few [chances].
“But of course, Chelsea we concede few – until the one-two they had one chance with [Eden] Hazard in the first half to the left of Claudio [Bravo].
“And until the goal they didn’t create absolutely anything and we were there all the time and create a lot. After 1-1, 1-2 they make counter attacks and in that moment we didn’t control the game.
“In Leicester after four minutes, two goals - exceptional goals. But we have to rebuild and create to be solid at the back.
“When you don’t dominate so clear and you have problems to score goals because our balance is not too high, to be solid in the middle and the back is so, so important.
“Of course we receive one goal against Arsenal but in both games against Watford and Arsenal we concede few because, not just the back four, our aggression was higher.
“Our control of the game with the counterattack when we had to use it but when we didn’t have to use it we moved with passion and that’s why we concede few.
“But every game is completely different and every game can happen absolutely everything.”
