That means Wilfried Bony, Aleksandar Kolarov, Vincent Kompany, Eliaquim Mangala and Samir Nasri will all miss the last four clash.
Manuel Pellegrini also gave updates on the lay-offs in his pre-match press conference at City Football Academy on Tuesday afternoon and gave some positive news on the potential return date of the skipper.
There had been reports that Kompany would be missing for another six weeks but the City boss rubbished those claims and revealed his hope that the Belgian international would be back in a fortnight.
Pellegrini said: “The injury situation is exactly the same. Mangala, Kompany, Kolarov, Bony and Nasri are out.
“I don’t think Vincent will be out for six weeks – he will return in a couple of weeks. As I said in the last press conference, it’s very important how he improves in the next weeks.
“Be sure we are doing all we can to review Vincent in different places with different doctors. For him also, he’s very sad not to play, I hope that now when he comes back he will be fit until the end of the season.
“If we want to be involved in all competitions, we need a squad – we can’t just do it with 11 players. I will try to refresh the team as it’s the only way to continue in four competitions.”
Opposition boss Roberto Martinez described this second leg as a “momentous day” for Everton.
However, Manuel has confirmed that it’s an equally big game for the home side and that City will do all they can to reach the showpiece final at Wembley.
“Maybe Everton haven’t been in a final for many years and they will be motivated but our team will do all they can to get there too,” Manuel declared.
“The most important thing is to try to play another final at Wembley. That is our target. After we lost to Everton 2-1 I said that if we don’t qualify for the final, it’s not because of that game but because we can’t win at home at least 1-0.
“It’s the third time we’ll play Everton in one month – we know their team. We just saw their game against Swansea, we know the way they’ll play and the important players they have.”
Finally, Pellegrini gave his take on the title race, adding: “It’s a very close Premier League – nobody can take an important advantage against the other team. We’re still three points from the leaders with 15 games – 45 points – that’s a lot of points.
“I think it will be very close and it will take less points to win it than normal.
“Maybe we are conceding some goals where we must be more concentrated. I don’t think we’re defending that bad – if you see the last game, the first goal was very unlucky. The second goal, I was not very happy. Joe Hart only had one save to make from the free-kick, we defended well.”
