Manuel Pellegrini’s men notched their biggest ever Premier League victory, securing their fifth home league win in as many games in the process.
The hosts found themselves 4-0 up inside 36 minutes, courtesy of a Bradley Johnson own goal, plus efforts from David Silva, Matija Nastasic and Alvaro Negredo.
The onslaught continued after the break as Yaya Toure, Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko strikes compounded the visitors’ misery.
