Gerard Wiekens grabbed his only goal in City’s year in League Division Two, the Dutch defender’s effort helping his side to a 1-0 win at Stoke.

Francis Lee’s hat-trick went a long way to giving City a 5-2 win over Wolves at Maine Road that kept them at the top of the league.
Tommy Booth and Tony Towers were the other scorers as the Blues stayed just ahead of Leeds in the race for the league title.

Two goals from Mike Summerbee and one from Neil Young put the Blues to a 3-1 victory over Middlesbrough.
The two points earned went towards City’s Second Division title-winning campaign, one that kicked off a period of huge success for the club.
