Sagna, Mangala and France head into the EURO 2016 semi-final with a date against the world champions, Germany

Too easy for France…

The Icelandic dream was ended in harsh style on Sunday night as they were halted by a home nation that had one thing and one thing only on their minds… Goals… A lot of goals.

The French managed to put five behind the opposition keeper with Olivier Giroud adding two, Antoine Griezmann adding one, Dimitri Payet adding one and the main man, Paul Pogba also scoring one.

After a 4-0 halftime score, the second half was a little more evenly matched. Iceland managed to score two goals to France’s one; that ended the score line as 5-2.

Throughout their EURO 2016 campaign, Iceland have shown what it means to have belief and heart, they never quit and continued to threaten Hugo Lloris’ goal time and time again.

However; in the end, they couldn’t find the amount of pressure needed to defeat the French. Both teams were greeted by their fans with standing ovations at full-time.

We now look forward to a semi-finals matchup between Germany and France in Marseille. The other semi-final will see Wales go up against Portugal in Lyon.
