City will kick-off the 2016/17 Premier League campaign at home to Sunderland.

Sunderland haven’t won away to City since 1998, with the Blues winning ten of the 12 home clashes since with the fixture producing plenty of goals.

In fact, the game averages 5 goals per game for the last seven meetings - 24 for City and 11 for the Wearsiders.

Another stat the Black Cats won’t want to see is that the Blues will be looking for a sixth straight opening day victory - the last time City failed to win the first match of the campaign was a 0-0 draw away to Spurs in 2010.

The eagerly anticipated first Manchester derby is just four League games into the new season with the Blues travelling to Old Trafford on 10 September to face Jose Mourinho’s men in what should be a fascinating tussle.

The return battle of Manchester is on 25 February – though if either side are in this season’s League Cup Final, that date will have to be rescheduled.

Other high-profile clashes see Chelsea visit the Etihad Stadium on 3 December with a trip to face champions Leicester City a week later.

In what is a tricky-looking month, City will also face Arsenal at home on 17 December while New Year’s Eve sees the Blues travel to Anfield to face Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

This year’s Boxing Day fixture is at the KC Stadium against Steve Bruce’s newly-promoted Hull City.

2017 begins with a 2 January home clash with another newly-promoted side as Sean Dyche’s Burnley visit the Etihad.

The only new venue City will travel to in the 2016/17 Premier League season is the Olympic Stadium, the new home of West Ham United - that fixture is pencilled in for Tuesday evening, 31 January.

March will be another testing month for Guardiola’s men with Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea in successive games.

The current date of the Blues’ final home game won’t be lost on City fans with Leicester City due at the Etihad Stadium on 13 May – exactly five years to the day since Sergio Aguero’s dramatic late winner secured a first top flight title for 44 years.

The campaign wraps up at Vicarage Road with a trip to Watford.

Of course, many of the published dates may well change for TV scheduling purposes and broadcasters have until 6 July to reveal which games will be covered in August and September.
