Last month saw numerous candidates with the Blues in fine form throughout, but the trio in with a chance of winning the Etihad award are Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne and Fernando.
Fernando
Fernando has become an integral member of the first team and capped off a fine month with two goals - one at Bournemouth and another in the victory over Stoke. Committed and dependable, the Brazilian is ending the season in excellent form and was also nominated in March - but is yet to win this award.
Kevin De Bruyne
De Bruyne made a superb return from injury, scoring in the 4-0 win at Bournemouth before grabbing a vital goal away to PSG. His winner in the return leg ensured City made the Champions League semis for the first time, too.
It is no coincidence that the Blues’ best form of the campaign coincided with the Belgian’s return to the side.
Sergio Aguero
Aguero bagged an impressive seven goals in April, including a stunning hat-trick away to Chelsea. He also scored against Stoke, Newcastle, West Brom and Bournemouth in his bid to win back-to-back Golden Boot awards.
