Here we look at who achieved what and when – plus the notable milestones that should be reached in the coming campaign…
Silva service
David Silva passed the 250 appearances mark in 2015/16. Injuries kept him out of 14 Premier League matches, otherwise he would be already closing on 300 for the Blues.
Silva is currently on 261, so an injury-free campaign should see him reach the triple century before the end of the season and if he rediscovers his scoring form of 2014/15, he could reach 50 goals, too – he will need nine more to do so.
Kun again
Sergio Aguero’s 29 goals from 44 appearances saw him achieve a number of notable milestones.
He reached the 200-appearance landmark against PSG in the Champions League and moved into the top 10 all-time City goal-scorers in all competitions.
He also completed a century of Premier League goals with his header away to Newcastle United, becoming only the 13th City player to manage that feat and he needs another ten to move into the top ten league goals scored list.
Now at No.8 in the list, Sergio needs 17 goals next term to move clear into third ahead of Colin Bell and Joe Hayes – he has averaged 27.2 per season so far – and if he achieves that, he will have record scorer Eric Brook firmly in his sight.
Triple Zaba
Pablo Zabaleta’s eighth season in sky blue saw him just edge over the 300-appearances mark when the Argentine warrior played against Stoke.
Zaba’s injury-ravaged campaign meant he made just 22 appearances in total – easily his lowest ever for City and least starts for 13 seasons.
Zaba is just 20 appearances shy of 500 career games.
Ice cool Aleks
Serbian left-back Aleksandar Kolarov reached the 200-appearances mark for City when he came on as a sub away to Liverpool.
Kolarov joined City in July 2010 and has quietly been creeping up the longest-serving current players’ list so he will be pleased to have achieved this notable landmark, particularly as he is in a position which often is rotated with fellow left-back Gael Clichy.
Ferna & Jesus 99 not out
Fernandinho ended the campaign one game shy of a century of Premier League appearances and he should complete his 100th game on the first day of next season.
Ferna needs 11 more games for his 150th appearances for City in all competitions.
Jesus Navas also ended the campaign on 99 Premier League appearances and needs just three more to reach the 150 mark.
Kompany man
Vincent Kompany’s injury problems last season are well-documented and the skipper ended the 2015/16 having managed 22 games – that leaves him on 288 – trailing Pablo Zabaleta and Joe Hart in the most games played list.
Hopefully, the skipper will return fitter and stronger than ever before in 2016/17 and if so, he will ease past the 300-mark in the first couple of months.
Hart beat
Joe Hart ended last season on 347 City appearances and will require a busy and successful 2016/17 to reach the 400-mark.
He is just eight matches short of entering the top 20 overall Club appearances list and when he does reach the magical 400, he will be the first City player to do so for more than 30 years.
Other facts and figures…
Yaya Toure surpassed the 250-game mark for City last season and has made 269 in total. Samir Nasri came off the bench against Swansea to notch up his 175th game for the Blues – his next Premier League start will be his 100th.
