Yaya Toure has been nominated for the BBC African Footballer of the Year 2016.
It’s the eight time the City and Ivory Coast midfielder has been nominated.
Yaya won the award last year and in 2012 so is chasing an unprecedented third triumph, though he faces stiff competition from Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez, West Ham’s Andre Ayew, Liverpool’s Sadio Mane and Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Yaya tweeted: “It’s an honour to be on the shortlist for the BBC African Footballer of the Year award for an eighth time.”
You can vote for Yaya here – the polls close at 6pm on 28 November and the winner will be announced on Monday, 12 December live on Football Focus.
