Vincent Kompany was absent from Manchester City's open training session ahead of the trip to Borussia Monchengladbach.
The Man City skipper was forced off against Crystal Palace on Saturday after suffering from blurred vision and won’t be risked in Germany.
Fabian Delph trained, but hasn’t featured for the first team since the end of August when he was an unused sub against West Ham. He required surgery on a troublesome groin problem.
John Stones, Ilkay Gundogan and Gael Clichy also trained for the Blues who could seal at least second spot with a victory at Borussia-Park.
Saturday’s two-goal hero Yaya Toure also trained with the squad though he is unavailable to play in this phase of the Champions League.
The full team news will be confirmed at this evening’s press conference.
