Brazil legend Cafu reckons Man City fans are in for a treat when Gabriel Jesus arrives at the Club.

Jesus scored one and made one for the Selecao on Tuesday night as they continued to boss South American World Cup qualifying with a 2-0 win in Peru.

Cafu, Brazil’s most-capped player with an incredible 149, has been impressed with the young forward’s progress and as references go, they don’t come much more authoritative than that.

The 46-year-old tweeted: “Fantastic win for the team, Gabriel Jesus is impressive for everyone, Manchester City fans should be VERY excited watching!!!”

After the game Jesus said: “There are lot of players in Brazil who can wear the No 9 but I am proud that I have this opportunity. I am proud to be honouring the shirt.”

With Brazil’s international calendar concluded, Jesus ends the year joint top scorer for his country with Philippe Coutinho, but leading scorer in World Cup qualifiers with five.

Jesus will join City in January from Palmeiras.
