Join us as we chart the best of what the internet has thrown up during the last week, whether Manchester City related or not.

Elano, Steph Houghton and Melbourne City all feature in the latest instalment, so without further ado…

Elano memories

After his retirement last week, many City fans took the opportunity to get nostalgic about Elano’s time in Manchester.

The Brazilian, now 35, was a major hit in his first season after joining Sven Goran-Eriksson’s City in 2007. Those memories even prompted ex-City striker Darius Vassell to pick him in his ultimate five-a-side team in an interview with the Premier League.

Captain fantastic

It’s not been a bad year for Man City and England Women’s captain Steph Houghton. Following England’s win over the Netherlands on Tuesday night, her 2016 on the pitch is now over and well, we’ll let her give you the key facts and figures.

Melbourne City

Over in Australia our sister club Melbourne City have had a historic week. They took on Sydney FC in the FFA Cup final on Wednesday morning and Tim Cahill’s header sealed the club’s first ever piece of silverware.

Congratulations to all!

Top 100

It’s that time of year again. Players across the globe are being ranked on the merits of their achievements over the past 12 months by FourFourTwo.

Although Ilkay Gundogan (79), Raheem Sterling (57) and David Silva (32) have already been revealed, the top 30 places are still to be announced and we expect some City names to be involved.

Happy Gabriel

He’s on his way! Gabriel Jesus will be arriving in Manchester soon and he signed off at Palmeiras in the best possible fashion; by lifting the Brasileiro Serie A title.

Felicidade é o que me define ! #campeão🏆

Silence…please

Bayern’s Munich’s Thomas Muller is known for his goalscoring. He certainly won’t win any awards for his singing but this rendition of Silent Night at least put us in the festive mood.
