It's been a great day for City's international stars as the 2018 World Cup qualifiers continued on Saturday.

John Stones played the full ninety minutes and kept a comfortable clean sheet as England beat Malta 2-0 at Wembley.

First-half goals from Daniel Sturridge and Dele Alli saw Gareth Southgate’s men past the European minnows.

Meanwhile, Stones kept Malta at arms length throughout at the other end of the pitch, showing his ability to bring the ball forward several times too.

City goalkeeper Joe Hart, on loan at Torino, also played the full match for England.

In Hamburg, Ilkay Gundogan‘s return to the Germany squad came on a successful day for Die Mannschaft who ran out 3-0 winners over Czech Republic at the Volksparkstadion.

Although our midfielder didn’t start for Joachim Low’s team, he replaced Toni Kroos late on to make his first appearance for his country this season.

Georgia Stanway was the star of the show as England came from behind to beat Brazil and qualify for the quarter-finals of the U17 Women’s World Cup.

Stanway’s two penalties, one in each half, turned the tide for her team against the samba nation.

Finally, Javairo Dilrosun‘s Netherlands U19s beat San Marino 4-0 and the City winger played 71 minutes while Kjetil Haug played the full match as Norway’s U19s beat Romania 3-1.

Tomorrow, David Silva, Nolito, Aleksandar Kolarov, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Enes Unal could all feature for their respective nations and we’ll have a full round-up here on mancity.com!
