What do Paul Dickov, a pull out bed and Alan Partridge have in common…?

In reality, very little, but they all feature in this week’s Things We Love as we round-up the best of the internet’s Manchester City offering over the last seven days.

Here’s what’s caught our eye…

He’s back

It was a frustrating evening at the Etihad on Thursday, as the Blues were held to 0-0 draw in the Manchester derby.

But even if you walked away wanting more, there’s no doubt you cracked a smile in the 86th minute as Gabriel Jesus made his return from injury.

A welcome sight indeed and the player was equally pleased, as this Instagram post suggests.

Roughly translated, Gabriel said: “Happy to be able to do what I like best.”

We are, too!

Being Blue

At the risk of stating the obvious, we all love being a Blue.

What we loved even more was the stories and pictures you shared before the derby to explain why you chose – or were born – to be a City fan.

Truthfully, we could have chosen any one of the #imablue tweets we received, but nothing warmed our hearts quite like this one.

Start them young, eh!

Dickie and Bish

We doth our cap to Paul Dickov this week, for a quite brilliant ‘City on tour’ story from the 90s.

Regaling Official Partner Betsafe with tales from yesteryear, our former forward revealed the hilarious antics he and Ian Bishop got up to during a mid-season break to Lanzarote.

We won’t give too much away, but it involves hidden keys, a pull out bed and a last minute arrival at a beach based training session…

Our Player of the Year

Another week, another reason for us to have all of the love for Manchester City Women.

In the previous edition it was due to their PFA Team of the Year dominance and in our latest instalment it’s Lucy Bronze’s second PFA Player of the Year award win which is worthy of inclusion.

A well deserved achievement – congratulations Lucy!

Throwback Weaver

Dickov shares the ex-player limelight with Nicky Weaver this week after the former City custodian rolled back the years to prove the old adage that ‘you never lose it’.

Returning between the sticks for a light-hearted clash of one time City and United players, Weaver was in inspired form.

Partridge

Who knew an errant ‘A’ would cause such a stir?

The Manchester derby duel began a little early on social media as we rolled out an Alan Partridge classic in response to United’s correction of our typo during Pep Guardiola’s pre-match press conference.

And oh, how the world reacted – it was even deemed worthy for inclusion in ESPN’s Toe Poke blog.
