A seventh Champions League campaign beckons for Manchester City as we prepare to discover our group stage fate this week.

Europe’s elite club competition resumes in September and here’s everything you need to know ahead of the group stage draw…

When

The draw begins at 5pm (BST) on Thursday 24 August and is set to last two and a quarter hours.

Where

Monaco’s Grimaldi Forum will again be the venue as the 32 qualifiers discover who they will be face in the first stage of this year’s competition.

Watch

In the UK, BT Sport 2 will be broadcasting the draw from 4.30pm (BST), while it will also be streamed live on UEFA.com.

We’ll also have full coverage on Twitter and here on mancity.com.

Who

The thirty two teams are split into eight pots of four for the draw, with the holders and the league winners of the top seven football associations forming Pot 1.

Pots two, three and four are decided by the UEFA club coefficient rankings as they were at the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

City are confirmed in Pot 2 and will therefore face one team from each of the other three pots, but cannot play another English team in the group stage.

Pot 1: Real Madrid, Bayern, Chelsea, Juventus, Benfica, Monaco, Spartak Moskva, Shakhtar Donetsk

Pot 2: Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Dortmund, Sevilla, Manchester City, Porto, Manchester United

Pot 3: Napoli, Tottenham, Basel, Olympiakos, Anderlecht, Liverpool, Roma, Besiktas

Pot 4: Celtic, CSKA Moscow, Qarabag, Sporting Lisbon, Apoel Nicosia, Feyenoord, Maribor, Leipzig
