Silva shines
There was little doubt who was man of the match at the King Power Stadium.
Bernardo Silva excelled. He scored a brilliant goal, ending a sweeping move with a fine touch and impudent finish, and then pulled the strings thereafter.
In a position wide on the right, he was a constant threat, always looking to beat players and create space.
The man who gave one of the finest performances the Etihad has ever seen as a Monaco player last season is coming into his own in a Blue shirt.
Baby sharks
Guardiola went with a young, inexperienced side against Leicester and it paid off.
Phil Foden, Brahim Diaz and Oleksandr Zinchenko all started the game, and none looked out of place.
Foden once again demonstrated his bravery and confidence, constantly demanding the ball and looking to play passes to unlock the opposition defence.
Diaz is a player with immense quality, and his ability to glide past players is already an asset.
And Zinchenko may not be a natural defender but he gave a good account of himself and got forward well to support City’s attacks. He has an excellent fist touch and is comfortable playing City’s pass-and-move style.
Lukas Nmecha and Tom Dele-Bashiru were also both given an opportunity to impress from the bench.
Nmecha scored a fine penalty in the shoot-out, Dele-Bashiru was a calming presence who rarely gave the ball away.
All in all, it was a fine night for City’s youth programme.
Silky Ilkay
It was another fine display from Ilkay Gundogan.
The German pass master was superb in the win over Spurs at the weekend and he again showed the quality he has.
His set up Bernardo’s goal with a fine run and finish, and controlled the game from the middle of the park.
With his injury troubles behind behind him, he’s emerging as a vitally important player.

Once again, the night belonged to Claudio Bravo.
Juts as he did in the last round, the Chilean stopper played a crucial role in the shoot-out, this time saving Riyad Mahrez’s penalty to seal City’s passage to the last-four.
There can be little doubt: Bravo is a penalty expert.
Final four
City find out their semi-final opponents in tonight’s draw, which takes place after this evening’s quarter-final ties.
Arsenal are already there after their win over West Ham. And then it’s either Bristol City or Manchester United and Chelsea or Bournemouth.
