The FA have released the following statement regarding Fernandinho:

“Fernandinho will serve a four-match suspension with immediate effect after his claim of wrongful dismissal was rejected today [Wednesday 4 January 2017] following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing.

“The Manchester City midfielder was sent off for serious foul play during the game against Burnley on Monday 2 January 2017.

“His suspension includes the standard sanction of an additional game as it was his second dismissal of the season.”

The Brazilian will miss the FA Cup tie at West Ham, plus the Premier League games against Everton and Tottenham.

Fernandinho would miss a replay against West Ham, or a fourth round tie in the FA Cup, should those games arise. In that case he would be available for the Premier League game against West Ham on February 1.
