When the thunder rolls
Stormy weather is forecast this week in Houston as temperatures of around 35 degrees Celsius and high humidity combine to threatening effect overhead. Thursday’s game is not in doubt though as it will be played under the roof at the NRG Stadium.
Dickov on tour
The man that scored one of the most important City goals of all time, Paul Dickov, is out on tour with the Blues in the US. The affable Scot will be meeting local and travelling fans. But for his never-say-die strike in ‘99 against Gillingham, how very different things would be!
Brazilian bounce
Livewire Brazilian Gabriel Jesus ended the season with a spring in his step (three goals in the last three games) and he’s singing his way into the 2017/2018 campaign. He serenaded Fernandinho on arrival in Houston and he’s been bouncing around the team hotel and training sessions ever since. It will be fascinating to watch the evolution of this remarkable talent in the coming season… and he seems to be enjoying every moment of the journey.

Raising the training stakes
There’s a developing theme in the early tour training sessions: rondo nutmegs. Step forward new boy Kyle Walker, who caught out fellow Yorkshireman John Stones, before this outrageous move from Kevin De Bruyne. We’re sure there’s plenty more where that came from.
Our kind of City!
It’s not only our players that have been busy so far on tour, Moonbeam and Moonchester have been out and about sampling the local culture. Moonbeam has been spotted falling off a rodeo machine at a pathetically low speed, and of course they had to visit the Space Center…
City States
Two big US sports stars with City links are coming to town – NFL star Menelik Watson and soccer ace Carli Lloyd. Longsight-born Menelik is in town to take in the game on Thursday, while Man City ambassador Lloyd is now playing her football with the Houston Dash.
