What's caught our attention on the world wide web this week?

In our latest edition of Things We Love, Club Journalist Caroline Oatway rounds up what we think have been the top moments in satire and extraordinary football from the past week!

Buoyant Bersant

Remember the Celina stare? It’s back!

Bersant Celina joined Ipswich on loan this week… but – as ever – the good news couldn’t draw a smile from the midfielder.

Get used to it, Ipswich!

Doctor, doctor

There’s more to life than football, they say… but doctors don’t necessarily share that opinion!

Check out this footage of Chilean doctors, watching – and celebrating – Chile’s Confederations Cup penalty shoot-out win over Portugal… whilst operating on a patient!

Maybe Bill Shankly was right…

(As far as we know, the patient is okay!)

Manchester, la la la

We’re pleased to report the current Miss Manchester is a blue!

While in Sri Lanka for the Miss England tournament, Zoe-lea Dale proudly sported her City colours on the beach.

On me ‘ead!

Head tennis made a comeback this week, as members of Portugal’s national team gave it a go.

City’s new signing Bernardo Silva shared this video on Instagram, as members of his squad bounced the ball around the table before nodding it into a tiny bin!

🇵🇹👌✌️😁 @portugal

Silky skills

A moment of magic from City youngster Javairo Dilrosun in the Netherlands’ U19 Euros win over Germany.

The forward executed an exquisite backheel into the path of Jay-Roy Grot to latch onto and finish with aplomb.

Can’t stop watching!

Keeping it… colourful

Wycombe Wanderers launched their new goalkeeper kits this week, live on Sky Sports, causing a bit of a stir!

They’re described as ‘distinctive’… certainly so! Apparently the ‘kaleidoscope’ pattern of colours are designed to make the goalkeepers appear larger and more imposing.

Not my first thought, I have to admit!

Pre-seasons past

Time for a bit of nostalgia… We’re big fans of Simon Curtis’ trips down Memory Lane.

His latest offering features a look back on City’s weird and wonderful pre-season trips.

As always, definitely worth a read!

Always him

Ever the maverick, Mario Balotelli loves a good trolling on Twitter.

This week, he poked a gentle dig at United, claiming he cheers himself up by rewatching City’s famous title win from 2012.

As you can imagine, this went down a treat with the Blue half of Manchester… the Red, not so much!

Bronze medal

Great little story this, as Beth Yaxley tweeted her disappointment that her mum wouldn’t let her buy an England shirt adorned with Lucy Bronze’s name.

Our right-back discovered the message and sent a video plea out to Ms Yaxley to change her mind… and it worked!

Beth is now the proud owner of a Lionesses strip with Bronze 2 emblazoned on the back. Nice work, Lucy!
