Stockport-born youngster Phil Foden is one of four youngsters on the first team's US tour this summer.

At just 17 years old, Foden could play some part in the fixtures against Manchester United, Real Madrid and Spurs over the next couple of weeks.

He’s been at the Club since U9 level and became the third youngest player in City’s history to be named in a matchday squad behind Glyn Pardoe and Paul Simpson when Pep named him on the bench for the Champions League fixture against Celtic in December 2016.

Phil shone in the U18s team that only lost two out of their 29 league games last season, as well as reaching the FA Youth Cup final.

The left-footed playmaker, who can play in central midfield or in a wide position, scored a magical goal in the first leg of the aforementioned final as he drove towards goal before slotting the ball into the bottom corner to level the score.

It’s not just goals the England youth international offers. His eye for a searching pass and ability to glide past opponents from his usual central midfield berth has been integral to the unstoppable form of City’s youngsters.

Alongside his Premier League duties, Foden has also appeared in City’s UEFA Youth League side as well as starring for England U17s as they reached the final of the 2017 U17 European Championships with the 17-year old scoring in the final defeat against Spain.
