He began his career at local side Sao Paulo where he stayed for one season.
4 Early days
At the age of 16, he joined Benfica and spent two years there before joining Ribeirao’s senior side. A year later, he moved to Rio Ave.
5 International stage
In 2014, he earned a call-up to Brazil’s Under-23 squad and claimed victory in the Toulon Tournament.
6 Return
He rejoined Portuguese champions Benfica as a senior in June 2015; then signed a five-year deal in the July.
7 Dream debut
Following impressive displays for the B squad, he made his debut for the first-team in March 2016, replacing the injured Julio Cesar, and went on to help the Club to their third successive league. title
8 Cup success
He also featured in the Taça da Liga final, which Benfica triumphed 6-2, and played three matches in the Champions League. Benfica reached the quarter-final stage.
9 Honourable mentions
Despite his youth, he has enjoyed plenty of success, winning the Primeira Liga twice, the Taça de Portugal, the Taça da Liga and the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira.
