What's caught our attention on the world wide web this week?

In our latest edition of Things We Love, Club Journalist Caroline Oatway rounds up the best of the internet’s offerings from the past seven days…

English pride

The country celebrated on Sunday as England claimed their biggest major tournament victory since 1966 when the Under-20s lifted the World Cup.

The Young Lions were guided to glory by none other than former Blue Paul Simpson.

Read more about the triumph and the man who made more than 100 appearances for City.

Congratulations to Paul and England!

Bumper stickers

Man City Women will have 11 representatives at this summer’s European Championships in Holland – and their faces have been plastered all over social media as women’s football fans swarm to fill their Panini sticker books.

Panini’s engagement for this year’s competition marks the first time an official sticker collection have offered their backing.

Blues fans in particular are keeping their eyes peeled for Karen Bardsley, Steph Houghton, Lucy Bronze, Demi Stokes, Jill Scott, Izzy Christiansen, Jen Beattie and Kosovare Asllani.

Good luck to all of our City stars!

#OurZab

Pablo Zabaleta has been inundated with well wishes following his departure from the Club.

The City – and Manchester! – legend will remain a fans’ favourite and we love this sketch by Lesley Ross of the Argentine hero.

Willy’s words

Another departing hero, Willy Caballero, took to Instagram to bid a heartfelt farewell to the Club and the fans…

Moore like it

High praise indeed… England legend Bobby Moore, who captained the Three Lions to the aforementioned 1966 World Cup success, was hailed by the one and only Pele.

Meeting Messi

It was a moment Can Teen members Georgia-May and Denis will cherish forever.

Organised by Melbourne City and the Argentine national team, the pair met Lionel Messi during La Albiceleste’s trip to Australia…

Carli, Carli Lloyd

USA star Carli Lloyd has returned to America, following her spell at Man City Women but the midfielder had plenty of praise for Nick Cushing’s side, even declaring she is open to a move back to the Club.

In an interview with CNN, she opened up about the Blues, her ‘elevator buddy’ friendship with Pep Guardiola and her work to achieve gender equality within women’s sport.

Top ten

It isn’t often we delve into other sports but how can you not appreciate what Rafael Nadal has achieved in the world of tennis?

Well done, sir!

Buzzing

This tweet says it all!

Beach boys

We all love photos of footballers on their holidays and this snap of Kevin De Bruyne with his son Mason at the beach made us smile.

(It also made us ever so slightly jealous. Ever so slightly…)

Rockin’ Robbie

Congratulations to former Blue Robbie Fowler, who graduated with a UEFA Pro Licence.

Young Leaders Summit

We’re enjoying hosting 60 inspirational youngsters at the City Football Academy for the Cityzens Giving Young Leaders Summit.

The Club’s global community work will take centre stage as our Official Cityzens Giving Young Leader Summit Partner, Etihad Airways, generously connects our young people by flying them from 14 projects to Manchester. For many, it will be their very first experience of international travel.

The Summit enables participants from a growing network of projects to access leading edge training in community football and share learning about how they are using the game’s unifying power to impact their communities.

InSane

Leroy Sane received a special – and unexpected gift – from City’s Swedish Supporters Club.

The German was voted their Player of the Season and was awarded this hand-carved blue trophy!

Definitely one for the mantelpiece…
