Free-scoring Monaco have torn numerous defences to shreds this season and will be looking to make up the two-goal deficit that could see them progress to the Champions League quarter-finals.
But the Blues, despite recording a Club record six successive away clean sheets, won’t be looking to contain the French Ligue 1 leaders.
Instead, as Guardiola promised, City will go into the game looking to get the goals that will hopefully kill the tie off.
City make four changes from the side that beat Middlesbrough 2-0 at the weekend with
Aleksandar Kolarov, Willy Caballero, Fernandinho and Bacary Sagna are recalled to the starting XI with the line up as follows:
Team: Caballero, Sagna, Kolarov, Stones, Clichy, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Silva, Sane, Sterling, Aguero
Subs: Bravo, Zabaleta, Delph, Navas, Otamendi, Yaya Toure, Iheanacho
If Monaco win by a scoreline of 2-0, 3-1 or 4-2, they will progress – as well as a win of three goals or more – the Blues will be knocked out. The only score that will result in extra time is a 5-3 win for Monaco.
The Blues look likely to go 4-1-4-1 with Fernandinho resuming his midfield holding role.
