Australian midfielder Mooy was named as Huddersfield’s Player of the Year at their annual awards on Sunday in the same week as being revealed in the EFL Team of the Season and Championship PFA Team of the Year.
That came the day after Huddersfield’s 2-0 loss at relegation threatened Birmingham. The Terriers head into the final match of the season still able to finish between third and fifth in the Championship.
Over in Holland’s Jupiler League, Manu Garcia picked up the bronze bull for the most talented player within the league in the current period.
City’s Spanish midfielder received the award ahead of NAC Breda’s 4-1 victory over FC Oss that kept his club in the race for the play-offs. James Horsfield also started for Breda while Thomas Agyepong was a second half substitute.
Oleksandr Zinchenko started for PSV Jong in the Jupiler League as they sealed a 1-0 victory over Telstar.
With the Dutch Cup final taking place between Vitesse Arnhem and AZ Alkmaar, it was a week off for Enes Unal, Bersant Celina and Yaw Yeboah at FC Twente.
In Scotland, Patrick Roberts and his Celtic teammates completed their fourth Old Firm victory of the season with a 5-1 defeat of Rangers.
Down in the Scottish Championship, Billy O’Brien’s St Mirren continued their excellent revival with a 5-0 thumping of relegation rivals Raith Rovers.
Over in Italy, Joe Hart’s Torino were held to a 1-1 draw with Sampdoria as they move towards a top-half finish while Bruno Zuculini’s Hellas Verona moved towards promotion from Serie B in their draw with Perugia.
Eliaquim Mangala and Valencia came within five minutes of claiming a draw at the Bernabeu before Real Madrid’s Marcelo scored the winner. Samir Nasri and Sevilla travel to Malaga on Monday evening looking to keep the pressure on third place Atletico Madrid.
In the Segunda, Angelino played the full match as Mallorca won 3-2 at Sevilla II to keep their survival hopes alive.
Finally, David Faupala was a second half substitute as already relegated Chesterfield ended their League One season with a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Sheffield United
