The French central defender played his second Premier League game of the season at the weekend after John Stones picked up a hamstring injury against Leicester.
Mangala, speaking at the Feyenoord pre-match press conference, said: “I’ve learned so much every day. It’s a different way to play. Strong passing, movement... our game is to be quick on the ball.
“To play quicker and to know where your pass is. John is unfortunately injured now. We have five defenders and sometimes it goes like that. You must try to take your opportunities when they come along.
“We need more than 11 players - it’s not just about me. There are so many games to be played.
“I’m very realistic. I’m going to work and try to help my teammates. When you are in the squad, you have to help the team. We want to help City to win the title and win trophies.
“City paid a lot of money for me. I am here to do my job and to be ready for the game. It’s football. What’s happened before will happen in the future.”

Mangala added that City will be giving everything to secure qualification on Tuesday against still-pointless visitors Feyenoord.
He said: “It is a game to win. We are already qualified, but we want to win every time play.
“It will be difficult. To win this game and to play the way we like to play. But we want to finish in our stadium and be first.”
In response to the question of whether the Blues could go unbeaten all season, Mangala replied: “Football is very difficult. Anything is possible. We will try to go as far as possible without losing.
