With City so dominant in possession this season – Blues enjoyed just shy of 80 per cent on Sunday – having someone who can break through banks of defence and commit players is vital.
Raheem Sterling has done that brilliantly this season.

That’s now 12 goals in all competitions; important goals too.
Let’s not forget that it was Sterling who got City’s current winning run rolling with that 97th minute strike against Bournemouth back in August.

David Silva produced a couple of world class moments to light up drab and wintry conditions at the John Smith’s Stadium.
It’s easy to take Silva for granted because he produces brilliance so nonchalantly.

4 Kompany key
The skipper has come back from a lengthy lay off impressively.
He produced 94 per cent pass accuracy, 10 ball recoveries and won three tackles as City carved out yet another win.
With John Stones out until around the New Year with his hamstring injury, Kompany will be vital to City’s continued push at the Premier League summit.
5 Sane choice
Leroy Sane has been in scintillating form this season and if you combine goals and assists in all competitions, he is the squad leader with 15 (seven assists, eight goals).
He is also making a strong claim to be the go-to man for direct free-kicks after his second-half shot cannoned off the bar against the Terriers.
For the past few seasons Aleks Kolarov has been the man for dead balls from right-sided positions but in his absence, Sane is staking a strong claim.
