Gabriel Jesus says he isn’t satisfied with his form and insists there’s plenty more to come.

The Brazilian striker scored two in City’s 5-0 win over Liverpool on Saturday, taking his tally to 10 Premier League goals in 12 starts.

He’s also weighed with four assists, meaning he has been directly involved in a goal every 65 minutes he’s been on the pitch since his arrival in January.

Those are remarkable statistics – but the 20-year-old firmly believes there’s plenty of scope for improvement.

“In terms of numbers I am very happy but not satisfied,” he said.

“I intend to grow and expand even more.

“I am not doing an excellent season so far but I am doing a good season.

“I believe that technically I still need to improve, step up in my game and I hope that the more I watch and play the games, the more able I will be to impose my style.”

City were at their imperious best for much of the second half against Liverpool, creating a plethora of chances as they registered their third win from four games this season, extending their unbeaten run to 12 Premier League matches.

Jesus says the passion in the City squad was key to their performance.

“Well Liverpool is a great team and they have been showing that to the world,” he said.

“We knew it wouldn’t be easy so we walked into the pitch with a lot of passion and eager to win this game. That was what we did and what happened.”

“We played for ourselves, to prove that we will do a great season. We managed to keep the ball and whenever we had the chance, we scored.”

City now travel to Rotterdam ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League game with Feyenoord buoyed by the victory over Jurgen Klopp’s men.

The Blues will be looking to make a positive start as they bid to improve on reaching the last 16 in 2016/17.

Jesus says the win over Liverpool was ideal preparation ahead of the game in Holland.

“Very good! Not only for me but for the whole team,” he said of the win.

“It’s amazing to win 5-0, especially a classic, with a great team such as Liverpool, so for us it was amazing, but we can’t stop.

“We can celebrate today, because isn’t easy to win this way, but tomorrow we must be focus and ready to carry on working in training, to do a great game again on Wednesday.”
