The skipper had been sidelined with a calf injury picked up on international duty in August but Guardiola explained the Belgian trained with the Blues on Friday morning.
Saturday’s game is expected to arrive too soon for the defender but he could be in contention for Wednesday’s Carabao Cup clash at West Brom.
“Today, Vinny played,” Guardiola told press. “He came back and trained with us.
“I think for the next days, he will be able to play again.”
Guardiola also provided an update on against Liverpool.
The goalkeeper featured in Wednesday night’s 4-0 Champions League triumph at Feyenoord but sported protective headwear.
“He still has stitches,” the manager added. “He made one training session before the game.
“He trained well – of course, he played with a helmet – and he said he wants to play. He’s strong.”
Asked whether he will make changes to the side for the trip to Vicarage Road, Guardiola replied: “All the teams who play in Europe have a lot of games.
“Until the next international break, there are many games to play.
“We will see and discuss the line-up tonight.”
Watford manager Marco Silva revealed in his press conference the Hornets will be without the injured trio of Younès Kaboul, Sebastian Prödl and Craig Cathcart, while Miguel Britos will serve the second of his three-game suspension.
Previewing the weekend’s encounter, Guardiola spoke of his admiration for his counterpart and Watford’s start to the season.
“Watford is just two points behind us,” he declared. “I was impressed with their last performance against Southampton.
“In the first half, they dominated.
“They are so physical. They have fast players and a good manager. What he did at Hull was amazing. He is a fantastic trainer.
“With their throw-ins and quality up front, it will be so demanding - for the game itself and also because we are playing so quickly after the Champions League.
“The big teams have to handle these situations.”
