City’s record against the Merseysiders is somewhat mixed over recent years with a 5-0 home win last September and our only Premier League loss this campaign coming at Anfield in a 4-3 thriller last January.
The Blues’ record at Anfield – one victory in 37 years – may look daunting, but can we change that on Wednesday when we travel to Liverpool?
Nine City goals and five from the Reds feature in our last three meetings... Take a look below and re-watch the highlights!

1March 2017, 1-1
City were forced to settle for a point back in March last season after coming from behind to draw 1-1 with Liverpool at the Etihad.
In an entertaining encounter, James Milner put the Reds ahead from the spot just after half-time but Sergio Aguero was on hand to level mid-way through the second period with his 25th goal of the 2016/17 season.

What a win.
Earlier in the season, we sealed our biggest win over the Liverpool for more than 80 years.
The Blues had already edged ahead through Sergio Aguero’s 24th-minute opener before Sadio Mane was dismissed for a dangerous kick that resulted in Ederson being stretchered off.
Gabriel Jesus added a goal either side of the break at the Etihad before a late Leroy Sane brace completed the rout and ensured the three points were ours.
Can we replicate this on Wednesday? Refresh your memory with the highlights...
3January 2018, 4-3
January’s match at Anfield would have undoubtedly had you on the edge of your seat.
A brave late fightback earlier in the game wasn’t enough to prevent City slipping to their first Premier League defeat of the season at Anfield.
Leroy Sané‘s goal in the 40th minute cancelled out Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s early goal to leave the game poised at 1-1 at half-time.
Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan also found the target, but a three-goal blast from Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah inside nine minutes midway through the second half secured the victory for Liverpool.
In a seesaw match, the Liverpool trio put the hosts 4-1 up on 67 minutes before City threatened to stage a remarkable late recovery.
A close-fought match which looked as if it could’ve swung either way - take a look back at January’s clash in the video below!
