Sergio Aguero, the greatest goal-scorer in Manchester City’s history, has set a new benchmark by scoring his 200th goal for the Club.

Aguero edged past Eric Brook’s 78-year record as City’s all-time top scorer when he scored the third in the 4-2 win over Napoli last November to top Brook’s 177 total.

And he has now motored on to his double century after his left-footed strike early in the Community Shield final against Chelsea as he continues to rewrite history for the Club.

It took just 12 minutes of the new season for Aguero to open his 18/19 account as he collected a short pass from Phil Foden to blast past ex team-mate and compatriot Willy Caballero.

Aguero has already set other notable milestones for the Blues, with his 12th hat-trick coming against Leicester earlier this year extending his lead at the top of the trebles list yet further. His eight Premier League trebles mean only Alan Shearer (11) and Robbie Fowler (9)  are currently ahead at present, though Shearer’s 260 Premier League goals record will be harder to top for Kun who has managed 143 to date for the Blues in the League.

Sergio also found the net in seven consecutive home games for City last season - another new record.

And he has already matched another Premier League record last term. His goal at home to Liverpool in September 2017 was his sixth in succession against the Reds at the Etihad – equalling Thierry Henry’s record of six successive home goals against Aston Villa.

He also became the Premier League’s highest non-European goal-scorer in that same game against Liverpool, easing past former United striker Dwight Yorke’s 123-goal tally.
