1 Dominant display
City were deserved winners in the end, despite a slightly disjointed and lethargic opening period. We dominated the ball, created better opportunities and were the more positive team throughout.
The chances Everton had towards the end of the game - which were clear-cut and, if taken, could have made for a tense finish – will be of some concern to Pep Guardiola, a man with perfectionist tendencies.
But, overall, we were excellent value for the win against a very decent side.

This was City’s tenth Premier League win in a row at home, a period which has seen us score 36 and concede seven.
3 Early goal significance
And how about this for a stat: on the 21 occasions we have scored a first-half goal this season, we’ve gone on to win every single one of them.
4 Welcome back, Kev!
Kevin De Bruyne came on for the final 16 minutes, his first appearance in a City shirt since the game against Fulham in early November and just his sixth of the season in total.
Our form in his absence has been outstanding but getting one of the Premier League’s most accomplished players back to full fitness will significantly strengthen our title chances.
He’s a joy to behold and seeing him back in action was a welcome sight for every City fan.
5 Leroy’s class
There’s no doubt who City’s form player is right now: Leroy Sane.
The German winger was brilliant again, assisting both Jesus goals and generally tormenting the Everton backline throughout the afternoon.
That’s now five goals and six assists in his last eight appearances, numbers that underline his importance in the final third.
In a tight game that requires some magic to unlock the opposition, Sane is so often the man who delivers.
6 Options
City’s bench on Saturday was quite something, an array of world-class players capable of walking into any side in world football.
The fact we managed to beat a fine Everton side without the likes of De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Raheem Sterling in the starting lineup is testament to the strength of this squad.
