Pep Guardiola has revealed that a knee injury was behind John Stones’ absence from the match-day squad in City's 1-1 draw with Burnley.
Stones, who missed the Blues’ 3-0 win against West Brom through an unrelated illness, is expected to be back in contention for the visit of Leicester City on February 10.
“John Stones has hurt his knee,” the manager explained. “In the last game he was sick, but now he has hurt his knee.
“Because we have Vincent [Kompany] back and [Aymeric] Laporte, I decided not to use him today but he will be back for Leicester and Basel.”
