The City midfielder was taken off in the first half of City’s 3-0 win over West Brom on Wednesday with what appeared to be a hip problem after taking a “kick in a painful area”.
He missed training on Thursday but Pep Guardiola says Club doctors will make a decision today about his involvement at Turf Moor.
“Yesterday he could not train he was recovering,” Guardiola said.
“He has a painful kick in the side. We will see today how he feels.”

The French defender ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in the 5-0 win over Crystal Palace in September.
Guardiola says his rehab is going well and believes he could be back in training in March.
“He is much, much better,” Guardiola said.
“Today he is in New York. I think in two months, maybe March, he will be available and start to train with us.”
