Phil Foden and John Stones are pushing for a return to the Manchester City squad after both players featured in training on Wednesday.
Foden has been out since damaging ankle ligaments in the Carabao Cup quarter-final at Leicester in December.
It was a cruel blow for the 17-year-old, who had made four appearances in the space of a month before the setback and was in fine form.
Stones missed last week’s win over West Brom through illness and the 1-1 draw at Burnley with a knee problem - but he, too, trained on Wednesday and is expected to return to the squad for Saturday’s game against Claude Puel’s men.
It is a timely boost for Pep Guardiola given City are currently without Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane, Benjamin Mendy and Fabian Delph.
