The Blues beat Bristol City 5-3 over two legs and will now face London opposition in the final in the shape of either Chelsea or Arsenal.
“We are so happy to be in the final,” said Pep.
“For everybody involved, to reach this final, we played an amazing game.
“We were two goals ahead and after that we lost the control and, you know, in these kinds of games it never ends until the end – and this will be a good lesson for the next Sunday in Cardiff and especially in the Champions League.
“Always we have to play the full 90 minutes. In the first half, we missed the last pass and we can be more precise, more accurate, but I’m so happy for all of us.
“We saw what happened after we went two up. Of course, we knew that if we scored two goals, it would be easier. After that, with one or two minutes left, at 2-2, anything can happen.
“This final isn’t about me. It’s for Manchester City. We are a Club that tries to reach new levels. With Mancini, with Pellegrini they achieved that, and we try to keep going with that same level.
“The important thing for me is to be there, keep going every game and Sunday we have a final against Cardiff. We want to keep going in FA Cup and try to keep going in the Premier League.”
The City boss admitted that for all the Blues’ beautiful football this season, his team will be measured on the silverware won and little else – though he admitted he is enjoying the moment.
“I know we will be judged by the trophies we win, but, I’m sorry guys, these last six months we are so happy,” he smiled.
“We’ve won a lot of games, every weekend we are so happy, and the training sessions we were happy.
“When we are together, we are happier and that belongs to us, nobody can take that away. But, of course, all the teams are judged on the titles they win.
“We are going to try. But Chelsea and Arsenal are strong teams and anything can happen.”
